March is a transformative month. The ides of March—March 15—initially marked the first full moon of a new year. I admittedly spend a significant amount of my winter months in Florida, the winter climate keeps me much closer to nature, the sun and my favorite winter home. March in Pennsylvania is a transformative month, marking the beginning of Spring as nature rebounds from winter dormancy. Crocus flowers emerge in the landscape, and Robins begin building nests to house their new offspring.

During the month of March, I like to bring a touch of nature inside my home. Adding silk floral arrangements peppered throughout my interior reminds me of the summer gardens to come. Boxwood and Magnolia wreaths on the doors are a classic and timeless touch and compliment bouquets of yellow Forsythia stems perfectly.

Dinner Party Dreaming

I begin envisioning summer dinner parties on the patio. I take stock in my table scape plans by perusing my store at the Promenade Shops, admiring the tables adorned with an array of loving touches.  Crisp linen napkins, classic china patterns… and I don’t even want to admit to my unending collection of beautiful stemware to grace the dinner table.  Candles are de riguer for adding romantic warmth, unscented of course to not interfere with the fragrant dishes about to be served. Hints of green fernery and handwritten place cards to avoid the confusion of “where do I sit?” Silver platters overflowing with Oysters, and the anticipation of a meal while frangrance wafts from the grill.  Surrounded by the laughter of family and friends, my heart is warmed.

Escape the winter and join me in my summer day dreaming at my shop.  After all we all deserve to make our dreams come true. – Gail Gray Dunn
