Cape May Home Living Room
The GailGray Home Interior Design Team furnished and accessorized this Cape May Home Living Room. This spacious, open-concept living space combines neutral tones with bold pops of color, and allow it to flow seamlessly to the kitchen. The bar area in the back of the space is not only fully stocked, but also fully accessorized with a frame on the backsplash and trinkets on the countertop.
First, we have the white L-shaped sofa that is the perfect place to sit and chat with friends and family. The patterned pillows in green and red are perfectly placed to add a sense of symmetry to the room. Using the pillows on the sofa help create a focal point and allow your eye to flow throughout the living room.
Next, the ottoman in the center of the room adds yet another pop of color and acts as another focal point – the placement being the center of the room. The ottoman serves multiple purposes – one allows it to be used as a footrest or seat. The second allows it to be used as a table – perfect for holding decorations for any season, just like the tray and glass ornamentation used above.
Placed under the ottoman is a woven neutral toned rug that work to bring the entire space together. Seated on the other side of the living area are identical arm chairs. The striped pattern on the chairs include colors from other spaces in the room – which allow the chairs to tie in with the rest of the room. The blue tone matches the ottoman, the orange matches the walls, and the white matches the sofa.
